Emerging in the early 1980s from answer to Reggae's growing popularity, Jamaican Dancehall sound initially presented DJs speaking over dub versions from existing tracks. Early dancehall focused on local culture, party vibes, and often contained politically sensitive lyrics. Over the 1980s, it began to feature faster beats, digital instruments, and
